Spring Term 2024

Weekly Vlog: 22nd Jan – 26th Jan

This weeks Vloggers were Hattie and Abi.

This week was not a normal week - we went to Liverpool Museum on Wednesday and it was fantastic.  We had to get to school early to go to the Titanic exhibition.  When the coach left at 8.15am, we were all so excited to get to Liverpool.  At the museum, we learnt lots more facts about the Titanic in a workshop, and we also got to look round both the Maritime Museum and Liverpool Museum.  It was a fun but exhausting day!

Thursday was also a great day at school to because our families were invited in to do activities and have lunch with us.  We sketched like the Shoreditch Sketcher,  made river models using different craft materials and created our own Titanic models from secondary newspaper copies.  Then we had playtime with our family member before having lunch.

Weekly Vlog – 15th Jan – 19th Jan

This weeks Vloggers was Thea.

On Monday, we learnt about scale fractions in Maths and we looked at Shahadah in R.E.  This is the 1st pillar of Islam.

In Music on Tuesday, we listened to Adele pieces to learn and our new P.E unit is handball.  It was great!

On Wednesday, we learnt about distance in Spanish and created labeled river diagrams in Geography.

In English this week, we have been learning about Thomas Barnardo as part of our reading week.

In Friday's Art lesson, we were using different media to sketch buildings.

Weekly Vlog – 8th Jan – 12th Jan

This weeks Vloggers were Deryn and Maisie.

On Monday, we started our new topic of Ratio in Maths as well as Electricity in Science. We compared modern day electrical items with non-electrical items from the past.

On Tuesday, we had an amazing music lesson where we got to listen to Adele. We also watched a hilarious pantomime (Aladdin), our favourite part was when he dressed as the Mum.

On Wednesday, we started learning about rivers in Geography and focused on the water cycle. A very catchy song about this can be found on our class pages!

On Thursday, we started learning about spreadsheets in Computing and explained how sharing things on the Internet can impact positively or negatively.

Throughout the week, we have been focusing on our editing skills and have unlevelled and rewritten our writing as Bertha or Johan (Titanic survivors). During Friday morning, we looked at the architecture of different buildings from around the world in Art and made some visual notes.

Our stars of the week were William Hall (6D) and Abi Green (6P), these were both given for their outstanding hard-work in Maths.

Check back soon for some exciting learning updates from our Year 6 'Vloggers'.
