Home Learning this week

Please find below some suggested activities linked to different subjects for you to have a go at if you would like.

I would love to see any activities that you have completed, please feel free to upload these onto your portfolio on Class Dojo. It seems that only photos can be uploaded, not PDF files.

It would also be nice to see photos of any other activities that you have been up to!

Maths

We will be having a Maths unit focus which will change every one/ two weeks. The whole school from Years 1 - 6 will focus on the same unit to assist you and your grown-ups with learning from home.

This week we will be focussing on Multiplication and Division.

We will be looking at Short multiplication: 4-digit numbers, and Short division with 3- & 4-digit numbers

By the end of Year 4, children should know all of their times tables up to 12x12. There is a document on our Year 5 homepage with all of the times tables included.

You have PDF file to look through with some suggested activities which links to this learning. There are the Heroes, Superheroes and Legends challenges that we use in class. There are also ‘knowledge organisers’ at the start of the activity to help you.

I understand that some households are printing the PDFs off every week, and I appreciate that there are a lot of pages on the document this week. Please do not feel that you have to print off all of the pages, if any of them! The purpose of all of the pages, is to help the children pictorially understand the place value of the numbers and what is happening when we divide.

English

We will be having a picture book focus which will change every one/ two weeks. The whole school from Years 1 - 6 will focus on the same text to assist you and your grown-ups with learning from home.

This week, we are continuing looking at the story 'Tuesday'. The activities this week are suggested writing tasks based around the story. There are the Cool Chicks and Dudes, Heroes, Superheroes and Legends challenges that we use in class. There are also ‘Tool Kits’ at the start of the activity to help you.

Science
