Welcome to the PTFA section of our website – that’s the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association of Bishop Lonsdale C.E. Primary School.
 
Our primary aim is to raise funds for the school, for the benefit of all students, but this doesn’t mean the group is all work and no play!
 
There is a very strong social element to our PTFA too – not just at our meetings, but in our whole outlook.
 
We always try and organise a good mixture of activities and events each year, some for the whole family, some offering parents a night out, and others for the wider community too.
 
Although we plan a number of tried and tested activities each year, we are always keen to take new ideas on board too, which is why new parents are so important.
 
 
If you have a child at the school, you are automatically a member of the PTFA – but how much or little involvement you have with the group is entirely up to you. You can join the committee and actively contribute or volunteer for the odd event – it’s your choice.
 
Generally, if you are enthusiastic and can hold a glass of wine, you will be in good company!
 
On a more serious note, being a part of the PTFA provides a greater attachment to the school – you will find out much more about what’s happening than your children ever tell you! – and you can really help shape future projects.
