Welcome to Year 5W
Academic Year - 2020 / 2021
Miss Watts
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Year 5!
I hope that you have all had a lovely summer. Miss Smith and I are very excited about the year ahead working with your children.
I hope you will enjoy visiting our page, and I also hope you find everything you are looking for!
Let us tell you a little bit about life in Year 5...
In Year 5, our day usually consists of English and Maths being taught in the morning, with a creative approach to our learning in the afternoon!
Rules and expectations.
Children are asked to bring in their book bags and water bottles to school with them every day. We will be discussing and deciding on our class rules during the first week. When we have agreed them, they will be posted on here.
Homework
Homework will consists of spellings. These will go out every Friday for a check the following Friday. Children will also recieve alternative Maths and English homework. These will go out every Friday and due in the following Wednesday in order for it to be marked. School diaries are checked every Tuesday. Children should be reading for 30 minutes per day either to an adult or independently. I ask that children aim for 3 signatures per week.
In Year 5, we take responsibility very seriously, and we are always striving to follow our school motto:
Believe, Achieve, Inspire
Throughout the year, we will be adding lots of important information to our class page so that you can be kept up to date with any events.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you have any queries and I will get back to you.
Thank you for you continued support,
Miss Watts
