Welcome to Year 1R

Rules and Expectations:
We ask that the children bring their book packs and water bottles into school with them everyday.
We have set our class rules together and agreed that we are all happy to follow these;
We will:
1 - keep our hands and feet to ourselves
2 - be kind to each other
3 - remember to use our
manners
4 - help each other
5 - share with everyone
6 - walk around school
7 - use our quiet voices inside
8 - have sensible behaviour
9 - wait our turn and put our hands up
10 - have lots of fun!
Homework
Homework will consist of spellings that will be given half termly with spellings to focus on for the week. The children will have a spelling check on a Friday morning to show their understanding and then encouraged to spell these words independently in their writing.
Children will also recieve alternative Maths and English homework. These will go out every Friday and due in the following Wednesday in order for it to be marked. Children need to be completing these themselves with help if required.
Reading books will be changed every Monday, we aim for the children to read at least 3 times a week with a signature and short comment if needed in their reading diary.
Throughout the year, we will be adding lots of important information to our class page so that you can be kept up to date with any events.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you have any queries and I will get back to you.
Thank you for you continued support,
Miss Rutherford
